Have you seen this man? He wears a white suit and a
Stetson,
Moves around with a candy tongue and looking like
he's trying to get some
More honey for his honey-jar and moving when the
hive is buzzing,
Runs to the water with his hair on fire and cutting
his old connections.
One down, one down.
I guess he has been this way since some long distant
era,
He ain't dumb but still he's with los pobres de
la tierra,
Lies between the law and steals the people's hearts
and money,
But always he will tidy up and leave the rosebud
fairer,
He moves under the radar like a secret-agent
soldier,
You should wrap your heart up safe from lines that
he has told you,
When you walk he's sold your love for pillows and a
mattress,
He can never be fooled again, now his heart is
older,
You want his hat, you want his shoes,
Then at the crossroads steal his blue suede,
Weeping eyes and thrown-up hands will tell him he's
in danger,
He will steal a ride away to some place he's a
stranger,
I will throw no stone his way-I've seen his face in
anger,
You can call him sinnerman if you're born inside a
manger,
Was it just one man or was a devil in attendance?
Did he break some dream and did he try his best to
mend it?
Was it wickedness or self-defence why he went
running?
Did he leave your room-window rosemary for
remembrance?
